Born and raised in sunny Leith, Graeme took to music at a young age. At the age of 6 he was picked out at primary school as having an ear for music and was given a chance to learn his first instrument . He was given two choices …… the cello or the violin . Him being 3 foot nothing and not the intellectual powerhouse he is today, chose option 1 ….. the cello . ‘’What a laugh i had carrying that thing home myself ‘’. After a year or two it all got to much and he packet the classical stuff in ‘’did my head in’’ and took the first real steps towards his life long love affair with music .He started listening to his mum’s record collection and found some gems !!! Zappa , the stones , the beatles , Dylan and his personal favourite at the time Buddy Holly . He picked up a few more instruments along the way (flute/drums/recorder)but before long his ever growing taste in music wouldn’t let him settle for one particular style ‘’50’s n 60’s music seemed a bit naff to me at this point’’. By the time he reached high school he was again picked by the schools head of music as having an ear for the divine force . But a later argument with this same head of music resulted in him being to pig headed to see what was good for him.
He started djing at the tender age of 17 … listening to the likes of Danny Tenaglia,Nick Warren and of course Sasha & Digweed . From then on its been more of an obsession than anything else . He was shown the ropes both in djing and a few things on the production side by a friend then signed to rhythm syndicate(Sasha fans will remember this top notch label). He then started to adapt his own style adding various tribal and deep house grooves to his mainly proggy sets . He started his first residency at 18 in then noa night club(now Berlin) in Edinburghs trendy west end along side Harlem Records Stu Hirst .Since then he has held various residencies and played @ various nights across Edinburgh (Trafik/Change/Aloneinthedark/Movement/Therapy/ClubMichigan/TokyoBlu)and Glasgow(Tribaltronik)
Listening to dj’s like Craig Richards ,Terry Francis and many of the other fabric and pressure (Slams night @The Arches)regulars helped develop his style from deep proggy tribalness to bubbling tech minimalism . Although evolving through many styles, signs of his early days are still apparent in his sound today . He’ll be gracing the airwaves once again with The Therapy Sessions radio show on Leith FM in 2007.
